Supporting the Conyers Community
At BioLab, we take our role in the Conyers community very seriously, and we deeply regret the impact of the fire at our warehouse. We are committed to supporting impacted area residents and business owners by making resources available and getting them the assistance they need.
Our priority at all times has been public health and safety. The emergency response operation led by the Unified Command – which comprised local, state, and federal officials in addition to BioLab senior leaders – was successfully completed on October 17. Our focus now is on completing our remediation efforts to clean up the site and continuing to support the community.

Answering Your Questions
With emergency response operations completed, what does the remaining remediation entail?
With the emergency response phase concluded and the Unified Command disbanded, BioLab has shifted its focus to ongoing remediation efforts to clean up the site. Overseen by the Georgia Environmental Protection Division, this will include offsite treatment, disposal, or recycling of remaining product and building debris at appropriately permitted facilities, remediation of the facility property and the adjacent stormwater retention basin, and continued air monitoring onsite and in the community.
How is BioLab supporting the community?
BioLab has established a number of initiatives to support the community, of which we are a part:
- Our dedicated call center assists with evaluating and processing reimbursement requests, as well as answering general questions. Area residents and business owners can call (678) 301-2359 to speak with a live representative, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
- Our local Community Assistance Center in Conyers provides a central in-person location where community members can make claims and reimbursement appointments, as well as get assistance with general information and inquiries.
- Our Community Liaison – who is a highly experienced BioLab employee and resident of Conyers – is on-the-ground engaging with residents and local businesses to answer questions and understand how BioLab can best support our community.
- Our debris removal service was made available to community members who wished to have fire debris cleared from their private property. Over the course of four weeks, this service removed debris from more than 130 properties, in addition to clearing debris carried off-site by the wind from public areas and roads.
- We have made donations to and partnered with local organizations to support their own efforts to assist area residents, and we are connecting with additional agencies to establish further partnerships.
We are engaged with residents, government officials, and other community stakeholders to identify additional ways to assist the community to ensure that residents and businesses have the support they need. Our community’s input is incredibly important to us, and we are committed to continuing to use every resource necessary to make this right.
